With the JS-GIS browser you can browse maps ad related data: move on maps changing scale and position, choose the visible theme and query map objects.
JS-GIS browser is subdivided in different frames:
The map frame displays the visible portion of a theme; it has fixed graphic dimensions, but variable geographic extent according to the current zoom level.
Map cursors, interactive arrow-shaped buttons, allow for movement along the major axis. They are not visible at the minimum zoom level or when you reach the edges of the publication's geographic extent.
User interaction is defined by the current map tool: by clicking on it, you can zoom in and out or have map object's related data displayed in the doc frame.
The Locator is a small-sized map which shows the whole geographic extent of the publication. By clicking on it you can change the current map position. On greater zoom levels, a red rectangle shows current map position and relative size.
The Tool bar accomodates a set of controls which allow to define map visualization and user interaction: commands execute immediate actions on map, while tools set map interactivity.
Zoom in command: zooms-in map up to the next zoom level.
Zoom dropdown: sets map current zoom level.
Zoom out command: zooms-out map back to the previous zoom level.
Legend command: loads current theme's legend in doc frame.
Theme dropdown: sets map current theme.
Zoom in tool: zoom in at the next level and center on the point where user clicked on.
Zoom out tool: zoom out at the previous level and center on the point where user clicked on.
Info tool: allows to query the selected map interactive layer. A list of active layer is displayed in the dropdown list just at the right of the info button. By clicking on an active object on the map, related data will be loaded in the doc frame.
This frame shows textual information, like HTML pages related to map objects, or theme legends.
Please note that using Back/Forward navigation commands in your web browser can yeld unpredictable results on JS-GIS browser interface.
